Who we are
Andrew Gorman owns and runs 3G Plumbing & Drain. Andrew has __ years in the plumbing trade. The "3G" in our name stands for __.
We're based in Bonham and work all over Fannin County and a bit beyond, from Whitewright out west to Honey Grove and Ladonia out east. Staying close to home means we know what we're walking into: older homes with cast iron or clay sewer lines, clay soil that swells when it's wet and shrinks in a drought, soft but sodium-heavy well water in most towns outside Bonham, and country places on a long water line from the meter or on a well and septic system.

Work that needs another license
Septic tank pumping, backflow testing and well pump work are licensed separately in Texas. If your problem needs one of those, we'll tell you so and point you to the right kind of company.

How to check a plumber's license in Texas
Look the plumber up on the state plumbing board's Public License Search. We work under Texas Master Plumber License M-00000, so you can start with ours.

Open the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners site at tsbpe.texas.gov and choose Public License Search.

Make sure the license is current. The Board says you can check a plumber's insurance there too.

Texas plumbers have to carry their license or registration card on the job, so it's fair to ask to see it.
Questions about 3G and plumbing licenses
Can a handyman do plumbing work in Texas?
No, not unless the handyman is licensed. Texas law treats installing or repairing fixtures and pipes as plumbing, so even swapping a faucet, toilet or water heater takes someone licensed or registered with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, working under a licensed plumber.
The main exception is for homeowners: Texas lets you do plumbing on your own homestead, the home you own and live in, without a license. That exception doesn't cover a rental you own. The Board suggests checking with your city first, since many cities require permits and inspections no matter who does the work. The law also has narrow exceptions for some rural property and a few small towns, but they don't cover repairs, remodeling or new construction.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. 3G Plumbing & Drain works under Texas Master Plumber License M-00000, and Andrew is our Responsible Master Plumber. We carry general liability insurance and will send you a copy of the certificate if you ask. Texas requires the Responsible Master Plumber behind every plumbing company to keep liability insurance on file with the state board.
